"The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and covered up. Then in his joy, he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field" (v.44).

While currently pursuing cross-cultural missions and stateside service opportunities, I've learned that the way of following Jesus is a lot more practical than I initially thought it would be. Whether working within EMS services in the United States or listening to someone share their story abroad, I've made it my decision to say, "Yes" to whatever God calls me to. In fact, one of the verses that I return to consistently is an account where Jesus shares what encountering the Kingdom of Heaven is like. This statement reminds me of what my life should be like when I'm living with a mindset centered around the way of Jesus. May I always be a person of joy, intentionality, and hope as I encounter a treasure that's worth giving things up for.
